- India is building the world’s longest expressway called the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, stretching for 1380 km.
- This expressway will make the journey from Delhi to Mumbai much quicker, reducing the travel time from 24 hours to only 12 hours.
- The smallest expressway in India is the Delhi Faridabad Skyway, which is just 4.4 km long and connects Delhi to Faridabad.
- The Dwarka Expressway is the first elevated urban expressway in India, connecting Delhi to Gurgaon. It aims to reduce traffic jams and provide quick access to Delhi Airport (T3).
- Currently, it takes around 7 hours to travel from Bengaluru to Chennai. But, once the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway is complete, this travel time is expected to be reduced to just 2 hours.
- The Delhi Amritsar Katra Expressway will connect important religious places like the Golden Temple, Maa Vaishno Devi, and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.
