While the Express 5:50 is a do-it-all workhorse, the Clean channel alone would cover many musical styles and gig needs. The purring overdrive available with Gain set above 12:00 and particularly in the middle, 25 watt setting, is still powerful enough to gig with but delivers luscious tone and smooth clip for days...
Played through the Express 5:50 head with a matching Mesa 1x12 Lone Star 23 Extension Cabinet with the bridge & neck position single coil pickup of a Gretsch Double Anniversary Hollowbody guitar. Mic'd with an Shure SM57 and a Sennheiser 421.
