In this video, I'll show you how to fix a Whirlpool, Amana, Inglis, or Roper washer that's off balance. This is a common problem that can be easily fixed by repositioning the washer's skid plate.

Remember to unplug your appliances from power and shut off any water before attempting any repairs. My videos are for entertainment purposes only and are not to be taken as repair advice. Please consult a certified appliance repair technician if you are uncomfortable doing DIY work on your appliances. Proceed at your own risk.

There is a friction plate in between the base of your washer and the bottom of the washer tub. It moves freely and can become miss aligned after transporting the washer, or an uneven load. First obviously check your suspension springs and friction pads. If those are good, make sure your friction plate is lined up correctly!
