This is a slightly improved version of my instrumental cover of Bronski Beat's 1984 mega-hit 'Smalltown Boy', from their album 'The Age of Consent' (London Records, 1984). The song was written by Steve Bronski, Larry Steinbachek and lead vocalist Jimmy Somerville. My version was sequenced, recorded and mixed in Presonus' Studio One DAW with the help of the following instruments: Presonus Impact XT with LinnDrum samples (drums), Roland Jupiter-X (high strings, stereo pad and bass) and Arturia DX7 V (synth brass with pitch bend, harp lead and woodblock lead). I am not quite sure why the supposedly linear tempo crescendo at the beginning of the song (from 127 to 135 bpm) does not sound linear but there you go...
