Note: Georges BOULANGER Romanian violinist b.1893, Tulcea (Romania), d. 1958, Buenos Aires (Argentina). When he was 5 years old, Boulanger began studying the violin with his father and later, at the conservatoire in Bucharest. His studies continued in years 1908-1910 in Dresden, with the world famous Leopold Auer. After first successes in St. Petersburg, Russia and his homeland Romania, Boulanger came back to Germany in 1923, and played there predominantly for Russian emigrants visiting the „Foerster Restaurant. Later, this violin virtuoso became famous and played in numerous restaurants in Berlin, with no interruption after 1933, when Nazis took power. He and his orchestra recorded dozens of sides, predominantly for „Odeon. In 1948 Boulanger left Germany and lived and played first in Brazil, and then in Argentina, till his demise.
