On March 31, 2010, Navy Lt. Miroslav “Steven” Zilberman faced a critical emergency while co-piloting an E-2C Hawkeye over the North Arabian Sea. When the aircraft's engine failed and a malfunctioning propeller rendered the plane unmanageable, Zilberman made a courageous decision. He instructed his co-pilot and two crew members to bail out, holding the plane steady to ensure their safe escape. Tragically, he was unable to save himself, and the plane crashed into the sea. Despite a three-day search, Zilberman was never found. His selfless actions saved his crew and earned him posthumous awards, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. #shorts
