Wanting to backpack in the shoulder seasons when days and nights can get pretty darn cold and even below freezing, but you’re a cold-running person or a cold sleeper? Me too! So I have some tips for you based on my own experience backpacking in cold weather on how to stay warm and keep morale up while you do so! These tips are timely with autumn having just arrived, and you can also hang onto them if you’re planning to backpack in early spring (starting a thru-hike, perhaps?!).
