Operation Blue Star was a military action carried out by the Indian government in June 1984 to remove Sikh militants who had fortified the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The operation aimed to restore order and eliminate armed insurgents led by Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

Unfortunately, the operation resulted in significant casualties and sparked outrage among the Sikh community. The aftermath of Operation Blue Star had lasting consequences, including the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi later that year, further heightening tensions in India.
