Axle-boxes are next as I will need to make sure the axles turn OK before fitting the frame stretcher that carries the boiler feed pump.

Building this model steam engine in 2 1/2 inch gauge, Dyak (an LBSC design) continues as the old axle-boxes are replaced with new from cast stock. There is a suspension system to make as well which consists of springs, guides and keeps. As I had to widen the horn blocks to square them up, the casting for the axle-boxes is only just big enough to allow for machining so no mistakes are allowed!

Now the frames are assembled fitting the axle-boxes leads on to machining the axles ready for refitting the wheels. Soon Dyak will be back as I received her but in much better shape.
