My own take on a great jazz standard, "Little Sunflower"
This lesson will be looking at 3 important areas you need to know for any jazz standard.
1) The Head (Melody) - The "A" section is played with octaves, while the "B" section just single line melody. The melody is such that there is room for fills.
2) The Comping (Chords) - There are only three chords in the tune, Dm7, EbMaj7(#11) and DMaj7, I used three quartal voicings in a repeated pattern for each chord.
3) The Solo - The tune uses three chords, for long phares, great fun for improvising.
