The Historium – Bruges’ most visited attraction – lets you step back in time. You can see how lively Bruges was during the Golden Age in various ways.
In the Historium Story you follow the love story of Jacob, Jan van Eyck’s apprentice, as you wander through this spectacular attraction with film, backdrops and special effects. In the interactive Historium Exhibition you will find additional information about Mediaeval Bruges or you can get started on the wacky Family Trail.
Go back to the year 1435 in the Historium Virtual Reality and sail virtually into the port of Bruges! You will see how the Waterhalle and Belfort tower were in the past and can fly from the Market Square to the former St. Donatian’s Cathedral. It is truly an exhilarating experience.
For a unique view of the Market Square (Markt) in Bruges and the Belfort tower as they are today, you can climb the Historium Tower, the beautiful neogothic stair turret with a height of 30 metres.
To round off your visit, you can relax a little in the Duvelorium Grand Beer Café, a Duvel-themed café. Here you can sample some of the best Belgian beers in an authentic setting.
The Historium is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm, including Sundays and public holidays. Audio guides and Virtual Reality are available in 10 languages. Discover everything we have to offer at www.historium.be.
