EASY OKOSUNS’ MUSICAL TORNADO TOUCHES DOWN:
DjEasy Okosun is ready to blow into Nigeria’s contemporary hip-life music with his new Single, JAIYE JAIYE, certainly a hit on arrival. He is not new to the music business: but he is making a powerful entrance with his new dance driven cut, powered by a sassy, urban but enduring vocal tempo, similar voice sound once heard from his older late brother and Nigeria’s superstar music maker, Sonny Okosuns.
Easy, a North American popular DeeJay based in Maryland, is schooled in the Ozziddi music rhythms. He was his late brother’s road sound engineer for his band, THE OZZIDDI BAND.. Few years ago, Easy, tried walking the same path of his late brother and mentor by releasing few remakes of Okosuns’ music. But these times, he has found his own music niche, independent of Ozziddism music concept: a break away from his past, creating his music identity in Nigeria’s contemporary pop culture.
JAIYE JAIYE is sultry, seductive, and sexy. Easy also took his second language; the Yoruba soulful and engaging language sexed the rhythms and made the language, his own. He sang fluently about Life on the fast lane of pretty single women, recounting an experience with female admirer that requested all things liquor before she could make her first visit to his place..”Oni ki nra henessey sile fun oun o..”. Easy, stretches the song into a call and response harmony.
JAIYE JAIYE is a party passion; a wicked and conscious rhythm. Infectious: driven by consistent wailing lead guitar riffs that stabs and injects you with irresistible dose of party sensation. The rhythm makes you “kolo” on the dance floor: leaving you dazed by Jaiye Jaiye gyration.
Easy turned this into a family tenderness. His niece, Adesua Okosun , Sonny Okosuns daughter, directed and produced the video.
