Today I stopped at Walmart in my zone 6b in Massachusetts. They are now fully stocked with lots of annuals such hanging baskets of Begonias, Calibrachoa, and Geraniums. The Perennials are are also filling up! On this trip they had a couple varieties of Hosta, Dianthus (including the beautiful Kahori Carnation variety!), and Thrift also known as Armeria. There were also many beautiful options for summer planters such as mandavilla, annual tropical hibiscus, and Lavender trees topiary! I was so delighted to see the yellow mandavilla! I have never seen that color before and it was a beautiful shade of buttery yellow. There is also still a large inventory of shrubs such as azaleas, Rhododendron, shrub roses (knockouts and drift brand!), boxwood, Pieris, Spirea, Winter creeper, and even compact Holly. There were some evergreens such as arborvitae, as well as deciduous trees. These trees included apple fruit trees, kousa dogwood, eastern redbud, weeping willow, and red maple.
