Ice cream has always been one of my favorite summer treats. There is nothing that makes me happier than something that is homemade. This creamy summery treat has definitely been helping me beat this Texas heat.

½ lb (8 oz) fresh ripe strawberries, stemmed and sliced
¾ cup white sugar
½ cup whole milk
1 cup heavy whipping cream
½ teaspoon vanilla
