The coffin of Pharaoh Ramses II arrived in Paris and was unveiled on Monday, on a rare loan where it will be exhibited until September. After its first trip to France for restoration in 1976-77, the coffin of Ramses is returning for a temporary exhibit while the mummy remains in Egypt. Ramses II reigned between 1276 and 1213 BC in an exceptionally long reign where he established Pharaohs domination over Nubia and built the temple of Abou Simbel. The coffin bears the marks of its 3000-year-old history.
