Islamic State claims responsibility for attacks in Paris
We start with the latest on the terror attacks in Paris.
French President Francois Hollande has announced that at least one-hundred-27 people were killed in the multiple shootings and bomb attacks across the French capital on Friday evening, local time.
More than one-hundred-80 people were wounded.
Around 90 are said to be in critical condition.
For the latest we connect to our Connie Kim.
Connie,... what do we know so far?
Well Mark,... the Islamic State militant group has confirmed what many suspected;... that it was behind the attacks.
It says they were in response to French air strikes on IS-held territory in Syria.
In an undated video released on Saturday,... Islamic State called on Muslims to terrorise the people of France.
"If you are sincere to Allah in your worship and in your creed and are unable to travel, then operate within France. Terrorise them and do not allow them to sleep due to fear and horror.
Shortly before that video emerged, French President Francois Hollande said the Islamic State′s actions were an "act of war."
"Fellow citizens, what happened yesterday in Paris was an act of war. It′s an act of war which was prepared, organised, and planned from outside, with help from the inside which the inquiry will help shed light on."
The terrorists struck six different locations across northern Paris as people were enjoying their Friday evening.
The worst carnage happened at Bataclan concert hall, where at least eighty people were killed.
A rock concert was being held in the hall at the time.
A journalist who escaped with his life told CNN that the hall was a ′blood bath.′
Four attackers were killed when police raided the hall, with three blowing themselves up and the other shot dead by police.
The attacks came as a friendly soccer match between France and Germany was underway at France′s national stadium.
At least four people were killed outside the stadium,... but it′s not clear whether this includes the attackers thought to have died here.
More than a dozen people eating dinner at a popular Cambodian restaurant in the city were also killed.
France is under a state of emergency with 15-hundred military personnel deployed across in Paris.
The Paris metro railway is closed.
Schools, universities and municipal buildings have also been ordered to stay shut.
Francois Hollande also declared three days of national mourning on Saturday.
And Connie,... the world has been sending messages of support to France. The condemnation of the terrorists′ actions has also been universal. What messages have international leaders been conveying?
Yes, Mark... there has been an outpouring of grief but also determination to fight the scourge of international terrorism. German Chancellor
