Join us to hear about their entrepreneurial trajectories, the opportunities and challenges of today’s economy, and what lies ahead for both businesses and respective industries.
About Carol Yuen
Carol Yuen is a 3rd generation banker with over 20 years of international financial experience. She follows the footpath of her grandfather, who founded and operated a traditional Chinese private bank (qianzhuang) in Canton, China in the 1930s. Carol founded the Alpha Grand Group in Hong Kong in 2017. Prior to founding Alpha Grand Group, Carol held senior positions with a number of international financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, Standard Chartered, Citigroup and HSBC Group.
Carol has diversified experience in the international financial sector. She has worked in areas including commercial banking; treasury products sales and structuring in forex, interest rates, commodities, equities; private banking and investment banking. After having accumulated years of banking experience, Carol further expanded into real estate investments and tailor-made life insurance wrapper structures for ultra-high net worth clients. She has completed over USD 35 billion worth of transactions in aggregate during her career.
Carol is passionate about education. She has been actively taking volunteering roles in the sector. She is currently a student representative and a committee member of the Master of Studies program at the University of Cambridge and a Board Member of McGill University’s Asia Advisory Group. She was also an ex-Board Member of the Faculty of Law at The University of Hong Kong.
About Ian Chapman-Banks
Ian Chapman-Banks is CEO & Co-Founder of SQREEM Technologies, a next-generation AI company that understands human behavior, better than humans, with a HQ in Singapore, 200 staff in 6 cites globally, and clients in 60 countries.
Ian is a Scientist & Coder with an MBA from Chicago Booth School of Business, and currently undergoing a Masters in Entrepreneurship at Wolfson College, Cambridge. Ian has held senior leadership positions at Apple, Microsoft & Dell, and was CEO of a US$4bn business at Motorola Asia Pacific.
Ian has had four major exits; He delisted a leading Singapore Semi-Conductor company from NASDAQ & sold the entity for over US$4bn; He also listed a Chinese lottery company on the London Exchange with a valuation of over US$500m and sold an MVNO to Rakuten in Japan. Ian's was runner-up for Young Business Person of The Year in the UK as a student for his specialist Farmhouse Cheese & Wine business.
