What better way to get off the mark for the New Year than fishing for chub?Using simple methods such as sweetcorn and a piece of meat the results can be staggering. Set in the stunning Ribble Valley fishing the River Ribble, this video shows some of the remarkable fish that can be caught in some of Lancashire’s most beautiful spots.
Even though it was a cold snowy day the fish were certainly biting. Feast your eyes on the rod bending too hard fighting wild fish and learn how to fish in winter conditions. Simple methods can generate results. FISHING CAN BE EASY.
In the cold months I use a quiver tip method which is a form of ledgering. Watching the rod tip can be absolutely mesmerising - especially when the chub are biting tentatively!
