So how do you avoid fines?

You need expressed consent. You cannot send a text message to anyone without permission. Have your customers knowingly opt-in to your plan.

All campaigns must let people opt out easily. They should be able to reply to a text and immediately be removed from your list.

According to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, you should only send texts from 8am and 9pm Monday - Friday.
