TheBestSchools.org caught up with Dr. Carson at the annual Pittsburgh Area Carson Scholars Fund banquet, held this year on May 24 at Heinz Field on the majestic Three Rivers point in downtown Pittsburgh.

Ben Carson, M.D., is a world-famous pediatric neurosurgeon and professor of medicine (now retired from Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine), the author or co-author of eight books, the co-founder (with his wife Candy) of the Carson Scholars Fund, and a candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in 2016.

In this segment of the interview, Dr. Carson discusses the the seeming elevation of medocrity in modern culture.
