A breast cancer survivor is running the distance between Michigan and Western New York to raise awareness for breast cancer research.
Davina McNaney, 42, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and eventually had a double mastectomy.
Her running journey will end in her childhood hometown of Sodus Point on July 3.
McNaney began her journey Friday in Pickney, Michigan and she has already made it to Ohio. The route McNaney is taking will total nearly 470 miles.
"It's amazing the response people are having to it," said McNaney. "I'm glad that people are responding so well and are interested in it. The support that I've gotten carries me through it half of the time."
McNaney says one of her biggest supporters is her husband, who is driving along with her every step of the way.
