Welcome to the second part of our kitelooping tutorial, where we delve into the nitty-gritty details of kitelooping and specifically focus on the exhilarating megaloop. Kitelooping is an exciting maneuver, but it's important to remember that it can be dangerous. Therefore, mastering upwind jumps and meeting all the prerequisites is crucial.
In this tutorial, we thoroughly analyze the entire process, starting from the approach and takeoff. Achieving the right speed and executing an upwind jump when the kite is positioned between 11:30 and 12:30 are key factors.
Once airborne, our goal is to reach a minimum jump height of seven meters. Just before reaching the peak, we crank the bar while maintaining proper line tension—an aspect we cannot stress enough.
Next, we steer and fully commit to the loop. As the kite returns to the twelve o'clock position and we enter the freefall zone, we gradually let the bar out. During our descent, we prepare for the recovery loop or multiple loops if we still have sufficient altitude.
Finally, we ride away with an incredible sense of stoke and accomplishment.
As an added bonus, we've included some hilarious bloopers at the end of the video. Make sure to check them out for a good laugh!
