The False Apostle Paul vs The Old Testament Law of the Torah. The Old Testament tells us that following the Law not only made a person righteous, but God required it of the Israelites. In the Gospels, Jesus affirmed the Law and taught that it would remain until heaven and earth pass away. But Christianity believes the Law no longer applies. The reason for this is that Paul invented the strange teaching that the Law has been nailed to the cross, and that Christians are not under the law but under grace. This is known as the new covenant theology.
Do old testament laws apply? Are Christians under the law? Do Christians have to obey the old testament law? Should Christians keep the law? According to God and Jesus, YES. According to Paul, NO. He taught that the old covenant or the mosaic law is over and Christians are not under the law but under grace.
God said the law makes a person righteous and that His people should keep the law. God's prophet Jesus said the old testament law is to remain. Only Paul claims the law was nailed to the cross and teaches a new covenant, one in which the old testament laws no longer apply and that Christians are now under grace not law.
