Riding on the trail I heard a sharp metallic ping so when I got home I turned my bike over to clean it and see if I noticed anything. In turning the crank very slowly with the power off I could hear and feel what can only be described as a grinding noise. When I would go faster the noise seem to go away. I ended up cleaning the bike and the noise has somewhat gone away. The only thing that I can think of is this is the chain guard rubbing with all the grit that was on the bike itself. Thoughts?
