A chemical reaction that happens spontaneously is said to be feasible. Temperature, enthalpy change and entropy change impact the feasibility of a reaction. These three variables are linked by the Gibbs equation;
∆G = ∆H - T∆S.
This is a past paper question covering covering entropy change and Gibbs free energy. The final part of the walk through outlines the stages that take place when a solid acts as a catalyst, providing an alternate reaction pathway.
