With its canyon walls, nooks and crannies Lake Powell has won a spot as one of my favorite places to kayak in the country. The color and beauty is incredible. I put in at Page marina and look a left towards Antelope. My trip took me past the canyon and ended up two miles past it near the dam. The canyon cut off is on the right and I got distracted by the colorful reflections the calm water on the left provided. By the time I kayaked back tourists set in but it was still an incredible experience. They key is to get there early, at 0700 I was the only one, by 1200 it was much more crowded.
The national park pass worked to get in! And there are a lot of other canyons in Lake Powell to explore. Can't wait to go back!
