In this blender (2.8) tutorial we go over how to move, rotate, and scale an object using some basic shortcuts. We also go over how to move, rotate, and scale in a single dimension (or two dimensions).
Some useful shortcuts:
In general: g is move, r is rotate, and s is scale. Choosing x, y, or z after picking an operation constrains it to the respective axis. If instead you hold shift and then select x, y, or z then only the other two dimensions will be affected.
