Updated to add: In the schematic at 2:49 the cap accidentally moved one position to the left and covers what should be a (solid) 5V connection to the IN pin of the regulator. The cap was supposed to be between the GND pin and the +5V instead. Kudos to viewer "zyghom" for spotting the error.
REYAX provided me with the RYLR998 LoRa transceiver modules. It turns out these are well documented and very easy to use to exchange data over a radio link while needing very little power. They are perfect to obtain data for example from a battery powered remote sensor like a for example a weather station.
