In Episode Two of our Abbey Road Amplify X Pitchfork London studio sessions, we present innovative jazz trumpeter, producer and artist, Emma-Jean Thackray.
Emma came to Abbey Road as part of our 90th anniversary and the inaugural Pitchfork London festival last year, surprising her band with the music for her new ‘Talking Therapy’ EP on the day. She and the Talking Therapy Ensemble recorded the songs live in our Gatehouse and Front Room studios with engineer Gordon Davidson.
These free jazz/punk compositions blur the lines of public and private lives, acting as a release for emotional struggles you might only talk about with your therapist.
