MENOPUR® is a gonadotropin for injection designed to be administered subcutaneously (under the skin), as part of an assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycle. Each vial of MENOPUR® contains equal amounts (75 IU) of FSH- and hCG-driven LH activity.

MENOPUR® medication is utilised within assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) to stimulate the ovaries (and specifically the follicles on your ovary) to produce more than one egg. Normally, the ovary would only produce one egg on a monthly basis without the use of this medication (which are hormones) to help the ovary produce more eggs in that one month. This is in lead up to the egg retrieval procedure (OPU) and prior to fertilization in the laboratory.

Once MENOPUR® has been mixed (dissolved), it should be used immediately and any unused MENOPUR® should be safely discarded and should not be stored for later use.

The most common side effects with MENOPUR® are headache, stomach pain, and upset stomach. Sometimes there is an injection-site reaction that can cause bruising, pain, or redness. These are not all the side effects of MENOPUR®.
