"Kōjō no Tsuki" (荒城の月, lit. "The Moon over the Ruined Castle") is a Japanese song written in the Meiji period.
Japanese pianist and composer Rentarō Taki composed the music as a music lesson song without instrumental accompaniment in 1901.
The music of the song was inspired by the ruins of Oka Castle whereas the lyrics, written by Bansui Doi, were inspired by the ruins of Aoba Castle and Aizuwakamatsu Castle.(from wikipedia [ Ссылка ])
Poem translation :
"In the spring, in the square near the castle tower, a party is organized while enjoying the cherry blossoms.
Now a grand banquet is held by drinking cups of sake.
The shadow of a large pine branch is reflected in the cut.
A big party where we drink and sing while bathing in the light of the moon which passes through the branches of a large pine. He must once have boasted of such glory, but now there is not a shadow of it."
