Construction of the Erakkandi, Puduwekattu and Yaan Oya bridges has been completed..
The work was carried out under the TrincomaleePulmoddai Road Development Programme. The public will soon get the opportunity of traversing the Yaan Oya. Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, who was killed in a terrorist attack, laid the foundation stones for these bridges on 16th June 2007. The Spanish Government provided 1900 million rupees for this development work. Eastern Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan and a group of Provincial Ministers inspected the progress of the work.
