The government has announced an increase in petrol and high-speed diesel prices effective from July 1. According to the Finance Division, petrol prices will rise by Rs7.45 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs265.61 per litre. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel will see an increase of Rs9.56 per litre, setting it at Rs277 per litre.
These adjustments reflect fluctuations in international market prices, as assessed by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra). The changes mark the first adjustment since the federal budget announcement for fiscal year 2024-25 earlier in June, with no modifications to applicable taxes and duties remaining unchanged at current levels as per government notification.
