The row over hijab continues to surge in Karnataka. The state government has shut down schools for three days and the Bengaluru police has imposed a two-week ban on protests near educational institutes. On Wednesday, the High Court also referred the matter to a larger bench and said that the matter entailed constitutional questions of seminal importance to personal law.

As saffron shawls and hijab clash in the state, we question if this is putting the right to education on the backend.
