If the battery is draining much more quickly, check those things to rule them out:
1. Click the Spotlight icon in the menu bar and search for something to check if it’s indexing — that could be why your battery drains more quickly.
2. Launch Photos, click on Library in the sidebar, and look for a status message at the bottom of the window — if it’s syncing, that could drain the battery more quickly.
3. Launch Activity Monitor, click the top of the % CPU column to order processes by the CPU cycles they’re using.
If you see any using a huge percentage, select them and click the ‘x’ in the toolbar.
How to avoid battery drain on macOS Sonoma:
1. Close browser tabs you don’t need right now.
2. Quit applications that you’re not using at the moment.
3. Update applications.
4. Switch on Low Power Mode in System Settings - Battery.
5. Disable launch agents and login items that may drain your battery (use the Optimization in CleanMyMac X)
