Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm (LVP) is a rare complication (3 %) of myocardial infarction. It is defined as a localized area of myocardium with abnormal outward bulging and deformation during systole and diastole, which is formed when cardiac rupture is contained by adherent pericardium or scar tissue. They should not be confused with left ventricular aneurysms, which contain all the three layers (endocardium, myocardium and epicardium). It should be treated as the patients are at risk of fatal ventricular rupture.
