Title: Coin Song
Album: Final Fantasy VI Guitar Collections
Composer: Nobuo Uematsu
Arranger & Performer: Scott Penick
"The whole business of the succession was so repugnant to Sabin, the King's brother, that... ...he fled the castle forever. The succession was settled with a coin toss..."
• I think of the the two distinct sections of this track (m. 1 - 12 // m. 13 - 26) as representing the twin fates of the brothers Figaro.
• I really, really like this song on guitar. It is very natural to play the rolled chords of the OST, and the B section (m. 13 - 26) takes on a whole new feeling without the lush strings backing it up.
• For my fellow guitarists considering learning to play this one, DO IT! It is incredibly rewarding to play. You could also basically take this as-is and play it on piano and it'd probably be very nice.
