The seventh part of "Fast and the Furious" was in many ways a milestone in the franchise. Firstly, after four previous tapes of the car action movie, the director has changed. Secondly, Jason Statham came to the movie series full-time, pleasantly shading off the other two big guys - Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. Thirdly, a high-quality script and a successful appeal to the past of the franchise allowed Fast and the Furious 7 to quickly set a box office record - to this day, this film remains the highest-grossing in the series, with more than one and a half billion at the global box office.
