Ed Townsend (1929-2003) was an African-American singer/songwriter and producer. He reached the Top 20 with his first release, that was "For your love" for Capitol Records in 1958.
He was songwriter and producer for artists like the Impressions, the Shirelles, Marvin Gaye, Maxime Brown and Chuck Jackson.
