Kangalal Kaidhu Sei stars Vaseegaran in the protagonist's role and marks actress Priyamani's debut in the Tamil film industry. Kangalal Kaidhu Sei Music was scored by A. R. Rahman, which was the major highlight of this film. Vaseegaran, a kleptomaniac, inherits a huge fortune from his parents. When he steals a diamond from a store where Priyamani is the salesgirl, she is blamed. Whilst clearing her name, he falls in love.
