In this episode of StoryAlways we were joined by Kieron Gillen. He's a comic writer known for titles like Phonogram, The Wicked + The Divine and DIE, for which he's writing an RPG that we discussed. We went into the themes of the comic, how the rpg interacts with it, how it reflects on the story of the hobby and fantasy and about that one time Kieron got drunk and asked Alan Moore about his sock puppet. Among many other things.
DIE is a pitch-black fantasy comic written by Kieron Gillen and illustrated by Stephanie Hans where a group of forty-something adults have to deal with the returning unearthly horror they barely survived as teenage role-players. It has been described as “Goth Jumanji". The RPG will allow you to recreate this experience while creating your own version of the story.
