Good morning guys, today we are doing a guided walk at the beautiful Monteverde cloud forest reserve. This is one of the most amazing places in Costa Rica and we cannot wait to show you guys around.
Founded in 1973, the 105 square kilometer reserve attracts over 70,000 visitors a year and is one of the most popular ecotourism destinations in Costa Rica. The best way to experience the reserve is to take a guided walk to learn more what makes this type of forest so incredibly special.
Cloud forests are not common, especially like the Monteverde Cloud Forest. There are a few reasons what makes the Monteverde Cloud Forest different than other cloud forests and one of the reasons is the great biodiveristy like plants we have living on top of one tree, and most of the trees we can find between two hundred and 3 hundred different species of plants just growing on top of one tree. So that's one thing that's difficult to find so that's what makes Monteverde Cloud Forest one of the most popular cloud forests that you can find.
During our walk, our guide shared with us interesting facts about the Monteverde cloud forest, pointing out specific plants and trees, showing us unique flowers and spotting wildlife which we would have never seen on our own, such as the majestic Resplendant Quetzal, a small but vibrant bird with a wonderfuly long tail. You can see exactly why the Monteverde Cloud Forest was voted as one of the 7 amazing wonders of Costa Rica by its citizens.
We highly recommend doing a guided walk of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and if you'd like to learn more, click on the links in the description below the video. Thanks for watching.
