গতকাল হাওড়ার জয়পুরের পর আজ জগৎবল্লভপুরে হাতির হানা। এবার দামোদর পেরিয়ে লোকালয়ে ঢুকে পড়ল হাতি। আজ সকালে পূর্ব ইসলামপুর কোলে পাড়ায় হানা দেয় দুটি হাতি। নষ্ট করে খেতের ফসল। গতকাল রূপনারায়ণ ও মুণ্ডেশ্বরী নদী পেরিয়ে জয়পুরের উত্তর ভাটোরা এলাকায় ঢুকে পড়ে দুটি হাতি। সন্ধেয় পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর থেকে হুলা পার্টি এনে তাদের হুগলির দিকে পাঠানোর চেষ্টা হয়। আজ সকালে দামোদর পেরিয়ে সেই হাতি দুটি হানা দেয় জগৎবল্লভপুরে। আতঙ্কিত হয়ে পড়েন গ্রামবাসীরা। খবর পেয়ে আসে জগৎবল্লভপুর থানার পুলিশ। খবর দেওয়া হয় বন দফতরেও।
