Outrage over Sri Lanka's crumbling economy came to a head over the weekend when a huge number of protesters stormed the residence of Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and later set the house on fire. The groups in Colombo continue to occupy the Presidents and prime minister's offices, and they have said that they will not leave until both officially resign. According to Sri Lanka Police, more than Rs. 17.8 million in cash has been taken by protestors, which was subsequently handed in to a team headed by the OIC of Fort police station.
