Stars and supermodels were out in force on Wednesday for the third annual designer launch at the exclusive Giorgio Boutique on Rodeo Drive - the main street in affluent Beverly Hills.
Special guests at the U.S-launch of Brazilian designer FAUSE HATEN included supermodel ALESSANDRA, actress MIMI ROGERS, JENNIFER TILLY and WILLIAM H. MACY (Fargo).
Timed to coincide with the launch of Giorgio's new fragrance, G, the evening reached its climax with Fause Haten's Winter '99 collection.
Encompassing a range of futuristic fabrics, architectural design and vivid colour, Haten's range was aimed at the modern woman. Straddling the worlds of haute couture and ready-to-wear, Haten used simple materials such as cotton, tulle and neoprene manipulated to resemble textured forms. The fabrics were washed, coloured and moulded until the desired look is achieved.
The familiar yellow and white striped awnings of Giorgio have been hanging in Beverly Hills since 1961. Since then it's become a mecca for all fashion conscious celebrities, locals and tourists. After the 1981 introduction of its signature perfume Giorgio, the boutique gained international fame for its innovative fragrances.
In keeping with its mission to discover and support new fashion talent, Giorgio started the annual designer launch three years ago. Past honorees include Hong Kong designer Barney Cheng.
