Stuffed Mushrooms with Sausage Dressing
Prep Time: 15 min. / Cook Time 25 min.
Estimated Calories per serving: 359 / Serves 6 to 8
Ingredients:
16 Large Mushrooms
1 16oz. Roll Breakfast Sausage
1 Box Stuffing Mix (chicken flavor)
1½ Cups Chicken Broth
1 Medium Chopped Onion
2 Tbsp. Butter
3 Tbsp. Olive Oil
Garlic Salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a skillet on medium heat, brown the ground breakfast sausage until fully cooked.
In a separate large skillet on medium heat, add olive oil and butter. When the butter is melted, add chopped onions and saute’ until tender. Then add in the stuffing mix, and chicken broth, and mix together. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add cooked breakfast sausage to the stuffing.
Remove the stem on each mushroom and wipe the caps with a damp cloth or paper towel to clean (Do not rinse the mushrooms in water). Place them on a baking sheet and brush both sides lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic salt.
Stuff each mushroom with the sausage dressing, packing it gently.
Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes and they are ready. Delicious as an appetizer, or side dish for any meal!
