The STRIDE Center hosted a webinar on "Evaluation of Pedestrian and Bicycle Options at Continuous Flow Intersections".
The presenters are Chris Cunningham and Ishtiak Ahmed from North Carolina State University. This webinar is related to research from the STRIDE project: "Integrated Implementation of Innovative Intersection Designs".
This webinar provides an overview of the operational performance of pedestrian-bicycle crossing alternatives at Continuous Flow Intersections (CFI). Three primary geometric alternatives were considered: traditional, offset, and midblock. The findings provide guidance on when each alternative may be most appropriate given a certain origin and destination and compares the expected delay and number of stops between alternatives and the standard intersection.
