A 100g serving of white rice (boiled) provides 131 kcal. Contains 31 grams of carbohydrates and only 2.8 grams of protein.
While brown Rice contains around same calories, but more proteins 3.6 grams. And dietary fiber 1.5 grams.
Health effects of Rice:
Brown rice contains dietary fiber and proteins and it has low glycemic index. It means its healthy food for those who has diabetes mellitus. Or insulin resistance.
While White rice can be associated with metabolic syndrome and weight gain.
Rice is naturally gluten free, so it is valuable option for those with celiac disease.
All natural forms of rice — white, brown, or wild — are gluten-free.
It means it doesn’t damage digestive system, which is associated with protein gluten.
Antioxidant activity
Brown rice contains three distinct types of phenolics, which are antioxidants, that occur naturally in plants. Antioxidants can reduce the risk of cancer by keeping free radicals from damaging cells.
White rice doesn’t contain these antioxidants.
Brown rice is rich in several vitamins and minerals like:
Vitamin B1 (thiamine), Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), Magnesium, Phosphorus, Selenium, Manganese.
Rice also works as a natural diuretic, which helps eliminate water from the body.

Most people recover without treatment. The administration of fluids is recommended if the diarrhoea or vomiting is severe. Antibiotics are not indicated as the symptoms are caused by the toxins and not the bacteria.
