In this 8-minute video, we show you step-by-step how to mix Ardex feather finish (Self-Drying, Cement-Based Underlayment), get the right consistency, and spread it across the floor to fill in any gaps.
A feather finish is used to make a plyboard floor extra smooth, to flatten and even out the surface for another flooring to go on top of it.
For example, if you have a wooden subfloor like floorboards and you want to have a Marmoleum floor on top, an LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile or Luxury Vinyl Plank) like Amtico or Karndean, or even a decent vinyl floor then you will need to plyboard it first and then add a feather finish across the top of it to seal any gaps and fill in any holes made by the coil nails.
