MUJADARA RECIPE WITH BULGAR || Bulgar with Lentils and Caramelised Onions || Vegan Bulgar Mujadara
In this video, we show you a delicious Mujadara Recipe with Bulgar. You guys have loved our Mujadara recipe, which is a very famous Middle Eastern Rice and Lentils dish with Caramelised Onions (you can find our recipe here: [ Ссылка ] ). In this video, we decided to show you another variations of this fabulous dish using Bulgar Wheat. Not only does this bulgar mujaddara (also called mejadara) taste incredible, it also has the added fiber content from the bulgar wheat.
This Mujadara Recipe is very easy to make and absolutely delicious. Mujaddara can be served on its own with a side of salad and a yogurt dip. As a bonus, we also show you how to make a Dill Yogurt Dip as a perfect accompaniment to this fabulous dish. The Caramelized Onions are really what take this Mujadara Recipe to another level of deliciousness!
For the Mujadara Recipe with Bulgar, you will need:
1 and 1/2 cup Coarse Bulgar Wheat (soaked for 10 minutes). We have used Coarse Brown Bulgar Wheat, but you can use any coarse or extra coarse Bulgar wheat for this recipe.
1 cup brown lentils (soaked for 20 minutes)
1/2 cup olive oil
2 medium-sized onions finely sliced
1 cinnamon stick
salt to taste
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbs vinegar
fresh lemon juice (1/4 of a small lemon)
4 cups water (including the reserved water from boiling the lentils)
optional: pine nuts and fresh coriander for garnishing
To make the Dill Yogurt Dip, you will need:
5-6 TBS Yogurt (a thick Greek Style Yogurt works best)
salt to taste
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1 small garlic clove grated (or you can use half the clove for a less intense flavour)
2 tbs dried or fresh dill leaves
1-2 tbs fresh lemon juice
This Middle Eastern Mujadara Recipe with Bulgar is bursting with flavour, especially with the Caramelised Onions on top. Mujaddara is the perfect main or side dish, especially when served with salad and a dill yogurt dip.
